Is giving birth to a baby through a coin-sized hole more painful than the crippling pain of being kicked in the groin? Nociceptors are nerve cells that send pain signals to the spinal cord and brain. These sensory neurons fire once a certain threshold has been crossed, and the frequency of that firing determines the intensity of the pain. Both the agony of childbirth and getting kicked in the balls ramp-up that neural firing.
Men are so fucking entitled. A friend of me and my husband posted this. And Cory is an okay guy, but he can be a little entitled sometimes. The result of this video?
A TIE. A FUCKING TIE. “BECAUSE PAIN IS SUBJECTIVE.” Listen, yes, pain IS subjective. But there are many things to take into account. I acknowledge that getting kicked in the balls probably isn’t very fun, because they ARE sensitive.
But honestly, I’ve had period cramps that have been so painful they’ve caused flu-like symptoms for over an hour. And this was not even close to what actual labor feels like. Getting kicked in the balls? A short, shock of pain. Probably a little more painful than getting kicked in the vagina (which DOES actually hurt? I’m not sure why people think that it wouldn’t…), but similar because it’s a soft, sensitive area, and it’s a brief shock of pain with maybe a few minutes of lingering soreness.
Additionally, labor happens for an average of 8 hours. 8 HOURS of increasing pain. AND, I’m pretty sure I read once that women generally have more pain receptors than men.
Listen guys, I know getting kicked in the balls isn’t pleasant. But, we’re pushing birth to a watermelon through a coin sized hole. For an average of 8 hours. With high intensity pain and muscle cramping and tension. A short shock to the balls with a few minutes of residual, lessened pain is not comparable. Stop trying to say you have things bad too because, like, balls though.
Just let women have this one.
